The Agenda: Economical Empowerment Among African Americans

The Agenda; Blacks must be economically empowered” (Milligan).

The purpose of this blog is to support Black Owned Businesses, to encourage the black community and to lastly, but mainly, advertise and discuss Black ownership. According to Dr. Rosie Milligan, “Black youth will have a brighter future if they are encouraged to prepare for a successful business future. We must invest in the youth of today, because they are our tomorrow” (Milligan).

So I believe that it is very vital to share our appreciation for the many black owned businesses and to encourage the up and coming black owned businesses. “Blacks need to see people who look like them achieving great things. If they can achieve it, you can achieve it. I believe that Black business ownership is the key out of the mess in which African Americans currently find themselves” (Milligan). Every week I will post information, advertisements, interviews, and tips from experts on owning or having a business and photos all from black entrepreneurs and businesses. Categories consist of Food, Clothing, Beauty, Health, Housing, Entertainment, etc. I will share my findings with you in hopes that you will share but also that you will mainly support these Black owned businesses.

According to Pamela Frugé “The economic empowerment of African-Americans in this country, and for any group of people anywhere, speaks to the ultimate ability to build prosperous communities. As we face our current economic crisis, it is critical for all of us to look at ourselves and make improvements and prepare for a better future today.”

As Dr. Rosie Milligan says, “I believe that black ownership is the key…” So if you know of any black owned businesses or have one of your own and would like to be placed on this blog, please contact me at LK81588@gmail.com. This is indeed a free opportunity to get supporters for your business.
