On August 10, 2012 in select theatres of the New York City area and in other parts of the northeast United States on August 24, 2012 Red Hook Summer will be released. This is an upcoming film that is directed, produced and written by Spike Lee. He's bringing it back to Brooklyn, this being number six in films from Lee's "Chronicles of Brooklyn". The film is about a young boy from Atlanta who is sent to live with his preacher grandfather in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The grandfather is played by Clarke Peters, who readers may recognize as Lester Freamon from The Wire. New York and Atlanta are totally two different states with different upbringings. This movie will show the complicated relationship the bit and grandfather have with each other and others in the community.
